The Dumplings have wheat flour wrappers stuffed with fillings such as meat, tofu and other vegetables (or Kimchi). 

Korean dumplings are called "Mandu". 

 Mandu can be steamed, fried or boiled.

Mandu also can be able to make a soup called a "Manduguk(Mandu soup)"







     Ingredients
      
 450 g (1 pound) of ground pork 
2 cups of chopped Asian chives (buchu)
1 cup of chopped zucchini
1 cup of chopped onion
1 cup of chopped mushroom
1 package of tofu (firm)
 3~4 groves minced garlic 
1 tea spoon ginger
2 package(800 g) of dumpling skin (만두피)
2 eggs




Direction:

1. Chopped zucchini and sprinkle salt, let it for 10 minutes. 
    Squeeze zucchini water out.

2. Wrap the tofu with cotton cloths, mash by squeezing.

3. Chopped onion, mushroom, chives.

4. Add ½ tea spoon salt and a pinch of black pepper, 1 tea spoon sesame oil,
   ½ tea spoon minced ginger in ground pork.  Mix it by hand.

5. Put all vegetables and pork in big bowl.
Add 2 eggs and 1 tea spoon salt and black pepper, sesame oil, 4 cloves of minced garlic.

6. Mix all ingredients by hand.

7. Put the filling stuffs onto the dumpling skin, fold it into half.

8. Pinch the both edges together roundly
  (If you want to make a steamed dumpling or dumpling soup).
  Make ripple shape (If you want to make a fried dumpling).

9. Put dumpling in Boiling water for 5~7 minutes.

10. Fried dumpling:
 Place some vegetable oil on heated pan and add the ripple shape dumpling.
 Put the lid on the pan to cook.
 Turn over each dumpling a few minutes later.
Add 3 table spoons water and put the lid back on the pan.
Cook a few minutes more over low heat.

10. Transfer it to a plate.


11. Serve with dipping soy sauce (add vinegar, green onion in soy sauce).
