Buchimgae is one of my favorite appetizers… They are known to be perfect for rainy days.
It works as a hearty snack, an appetizer, or a side dish to a Korean or Asian meal.
Buchu Buchimgae(Garlic chives Pancake) is great!  It is easy to make.
Buchu is the Korean word for “Garlic Chive”.
 It is similar to chives you see around here, but a bit taller and thicker. You can buy easily from Asian grocery stores.
Chives are high in vitamins A and C, potassium, and calcium. Its sulfur compounds have antibiotic properties.









Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Korean pancake mix or flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 bunch garlic chive, cut into 2-inch length pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper (or red chili), sliced
  • ½ zucchini, sliced (or onion or carrot, mushroom)
  • 1 cup of Seafood mix
  • Salt to taste








Directions

  1. In large bowl, put 1 cup of the Korean pancake mix and 1 cup of water and 1 egg in a bowl.
  2. Stir well with a whisk.
  3. Add 1 cup of a seafood mix. Stir well with spoon.
  4. Add chives and pepper, zucchini in a bowl.
  5. Heat some tablespoons vegetable oil over medium high heat. 
  6. When the oil is hot, add the mixture to the heated pan and spread it thinly.
  7. Cook a few minutes until the bottom of the pancake turns golden brown and crispy.
  8. Turn it over and add more some oil, and cook for a few minutes more.
  9. Serve it with dipping sauce(soy sauce with vinegar).
