This stir fried anchovy dish (Myulchi Bokkeum) is simple, easy,
and nutritious. Myulchi Bokkeum is one of the most popular banchan (side
dishes) in Korea.
It is very delicious and crispy. Anchovy has a lot of
calcium. So it is good for woman and child.
Ingredients
- 3 cup of small dried anchovies (the smallest kind)
- ½ cup of sliced almond and sun flower seed (or peanut, walnut)
- 13~15 sweet peppers
- 4 table spoons soy sauce
- 5 table spoons canola oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1 table spoon minced garlic
- 2 table spoons honey
- 1 table spoon brown sugar
- 1 table spoon sesame seed
- 2 table spoons cooking rice wine
Directions
- Put canola oil in a skillet and heat it up over medium low heat until hot.
- Put minced garlic and soy sauce in hot oil. Stir it.
- Add and Sauté the dried anchovies and sliced almond and seeds until the anchovies change medium brown.
- And add honey and rice wine, brown sugar, sesame seed and sweet peppers.
- Stir everything for about 3~4 minutes over low heat.
- Remove from the heat.
- Serve it with rice.
